Halloween Floral Name Place Settings

SUPPLIES & TOOLS:
  • Black Ceramic Vase
  • Floral Foam
  • Black Floral and Picks
  • Grey Cricut Vinyl
  • Transfer Tape
  • Cricut Machine and Design Space
  • Measuring Tape or Ruler
  • Serrated Knife
  • Wire Cutters

DIRECTIONS:
  1. Cut the floral foam with a serrated knife to fit securely inside the pumpkin vase, piecing together the foam if needed to make sure the foam doesn’t shift inside the vase.
  2. Use wire cutters to cut pieces of floral and decorative picks to fill in the foam and create an arrangement. Once the arrangement is done set aside to create the name for each place setting.
  3. Open Cricut Design Space and create a new project.
  4. Select the "type" T in the left hand tool bar, which it will bring up a Type Box in the grid.
  5. Type out the desired name in the type box. Click on the name and select the desired font.
  6. Measure the width you want the name to be on the vase and adjust the sizing using the rulers at the top of the document.
  7. Once everything is set click "make it."
  8. In the next screen click "continue" then Select "vinyl" as your Base Material.
  9. Place the Grey Vinyl face up on the cutting mat and load the mat into the Cricut machine using the arrow button.
  10. Once the mat is loaded press the Cricut logo button and begin the cutting process.
  11. Once the Cricut is finished cutting, unload the mat and remove the vinyl.
  12. Cut around the name and weed off the excess vinyl only leaving the name.
  13. Place a piece of Transfer Tape over the name and remove the vinyl name from the backing so its stuck to the transfer tape.
  14. Press the name onto the vase and rub along the letters to secure them in place.
  15. Pull away the transfer tape and rub along the letters again to make sure nothing peeled up when removing the tape.

JOANN HACKS:
  • Vary the heights and textures of the florals to add interest to the arrangements.
  • If you want the fonts to all be the same size you will need to do the longest name first and measure it then set that font for all the names.
  • If you want them to vary you can adjust them for each place card vase and just set them to the desired width.
