SUPPLIES & TOOLS:
- Wood Sign
- Stencils (Letters HALWEN & a Skull for the O)
- Painters Tape
- Stencil Brush
- Grey Paint
- Water and paper towels for clean-up
DIRECTIONS:
- Find the middle of the sign and place the skull stencil in place. Secure the stencil with painters tape so it does not move while stenciling.
- Stencil in the design with grey paint, make sure to not use too much paint and to hold the edges of the stencil firmly in place with the opposite hand while stenciling to keep excess paint from bleeding under the stencil.
- Layout the letters HALL to the left of the skull and WEEN to the right of the skull so the overall design says HALLOWEEN with the O being a skull.
- Use the same methods as stenciling the skull, hold down the stencil edges, dab off any excess paint and secure in place with painters tape for best results.
- Allow to dry.
Craft Hack Tips and Tricks:
- Dab off any excess paint to help prevent the paint from bleeding under the stencil.
- Secure the stencil in place with tape, if you have problems with the stencil moving or bleeding; lightly spray the back of the stencil with spray mount or spray glue before placing it on the wood. Make sure to dab the back with a paper towel or cloth to get off any excess glue, you just want it to be tacky and easily removable.
