  • SPRAYED T-SHIRT BAG:
    • Can of Fabric Spray Dye
    • 1 Plain White T-Shirt
    • Letter Stickers
    • Metal Ruler

  • SHIBORI T-SHIRT BAG:
    • 1 Botte of Fabric Dye
    • 1 Plain White T-Shirt
    • Rubber Bands
    • Plastic Gloves
    • Metal Ruler

  • T-SHIRT WITH CRICUT IMAGES:
    • 1 Botte of Fabric Dye
    • Cricut Machine
    • Green Cutting Mat
    • Cricut Weeder
    • 1 Plain White T-Shirt
    • Rubber Bands
    • Plastic Gloves
    • Metal Ruler
    • Iron
    • Parchment Paper

DIRECTIONS:
SPRAYED T-SHIRT BAG:
  1. Stick letter stickers on the front of the shirt.
  2. Spray the t-shirt with the fabric paint and let it dry. Wash it per package instructions.
  3. Fold the t-shirt in half and cut off the sleeves and the neck.
  4. At the bottom of the shirt place the ruler about 6-8" above the bottom hemline.
  5. Cut off the folded hemline and discard.
  6. From the front and back of the cut 1/2" vertical strips shirt up the bottom of the shirt to the ruler all across the bottom of the shirt.
  7. Starting from left to right, take the front and back strips and tie together a half knot.
  8. Start at the left again and tie the 1 st top string to the bottom 2nd string. Continue to do this all the way across the t-shirt to make the bottom of the bag close.

SHIBORI T-SHIRT BAG:
  1. Fold the t-shirt vertical in an accordion fold. Place rubber bands every 2" up the folded strip.
  2. Saturate it in water.
  3. Mix the dye according to the package instructions.
  4. Saturate the folded strip in between the rubber bands. Let it sit for at least 2 hours before rinsing out the dye.
  5. Wash it per package instructions.
  6. Fold the t-shirt in half and cut off the sleeves and the neck.
  7. At the bottom of the shirt place the ruler about 6-8" above the bottom hemline.
  8. Cut off the folded hemline and discard.
  9. From the front and back of the cut 1/2" vertical strips shirt up the bottom of the shirt to the ruler all across the bottom of the shirt.
  10. Starting from left to right, take the front and back strips and tie together a half knot.
  11. Start at the left again and tie the 1 st top string to the bottom 2nd string. Continue to do this all the way across the t-shirt to make the bottom of the bag close.

T-SHIRT WITH CRICUT IMAGES:
  1. Cut out your images on your Cricut machine using Design space to create them.
  2. Dye the shirt first and cut out the neck and sleeves.
  3. Wash it per package instructions.
  4. Fold the t-shirt in half and cut off the sleeves and the neck.
  5. At the bottom of the shirt place the ruler about 6-8" above the bottom hemline.
  6. Use this as your guide to where you want to place the images. Iron on the images onto the front and the back of the shirt. Make sure you place the parchment paper between the iron and the vinyl so that it doesn't melt the plastic.
  7. Cut off the folded hemline and discard.
  8. From the front and back of the cut 1/2" vertical strips shirt up the bottom of the shirt to the ruler all across the bottom of the shirt.
  9. Starting from left to right, take the front and back strips and tie together a half knot.
  10. Start at the left again and tie the 1st top string to the bottom 2nd string. Continue to do this all the way across the t-Shirt to make the bottom of the bag close.

JOANN HACKS:
  • Pull on the cut strands before you tie them to stretch them out and makes it easier to tie together.
