No more wrapping it up only to have it come loose and dangle..grrr. It slides and glides over silk, which ' tested on silk fabric from Japan. Worked superbly on cotton with ease as well. Now am happy to get out the iron and ironing board. Thanks for developing this iron!

The sole plate is very slick and helps the iron glide over your clothes when you are ironing. The iron is built very sturdy and is very well made. The retractable cord is very handy to have! Happy ironing!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Precise control and smooth gliding iron [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Hamilton beach iron is a very convenient and easy to use with its retractable cord, button based temperature control and self clean feature. The sole plate is very different and glides easily on the on the clothes. I have used it for weeks and don't see any scratches, even minor ones, on it. It heats up quickly and the screen blinks to show that the optimal temperature has not been reached yet and stays solid when the iron is hot enough. It heats up quickly and releases a decent amount of steam. Ironing clothes with this iron is definitely easier than my current steam iron. The user manual could use some updates though as it doesn't show how to use the self clean feature. The info is available online, but one shouldn't have to check online when there is a user manual in the box.

It also easily removes and creases or wrinkles. I felt that it was slightly heavy but it does it's job perfectly. I like the design of this iron too. I like that it has a retractable cord which prevents it from getting entangled. I also like the steam feature. It helps me quickly iron the clothes without having to use it on the same spot multiple times. This iron is easy to use and I am very pleased with it. I'd definitely recommend it to everyone.

It is very sleek and modern and pretty (yes, that's important to me). I have used the steamer to steam some very wrinkly curtains and it was fine. I steamed them while still hanging up and the weight straightened them out. The price point is good for an iron that steams also. In short, I'm happy with my iron.

Admittedly it is a bit heavier than some of the "bargain" irons in big box stores, but it irons like a dream! No going back and forth repeatedly over the same areas on an article of clothing. Very pleased the steams function. The soleplate has a premium nonstick finish. The self-cleaning feature is also great. Easy to use, and works like a charm. It's a keeper!

It's easy fill steam chamber has a convienient lid covering. You can adjust the amount of steam you need for a garment or use it without any steam. A press of a button and you can spray with a mist of water or a shot of steam. The front end is more narrowly tapered to aid in smaller spaces and/or around buttons. The retractable cord is easy to operate. It's a little heavier than my old iron but I actually like that as I don't press down so hard on the iron. It glides easily and effortlessly across the garment being pressed. Love the gray color!!

My old iron was about 30 years old and made my clothes look worse than when I started. The retractable cord is genius - it can now be stored anyway I desire without the cord knocking it over. It heats up fast, it's easy to use and does have an auto shutoff. Settings are displayed on the digital screen - in 5 settings. The steam works awesome and is easy enough to fill. It has a good weight to it and really presses down where I need it

You can see the water you have added. You can turn the steam on and off and choose how much steam. You can spray water which I really like. My favorite feature is the retractable cord but make sure you retract it in small spurts or it could be quite dangerous with the cord whipping around. I ironed a few of my synthetic tops that I left in the dryer too long on the setting for synthetics and was disappointed in the outcome. Didn't really iron out the wrinkles.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I didn't think ironing clothes could be easy until I bought my Durathon digital iron. When I opened it from the box I thought to myself, 'This is a powerhouse.' The design is sleek, it's not heavy to hold, comes with a retractable cord and a self-cleaning feature. My husband favors cheap fabrics for his work shirts. You know the kind, always wrinkly no matter how much you try to get it perfect. The Durathon iron got those wrinkles out fast. It's so nice not having to spend grueling hours on those dress shirts. My iron did all the work for me and it honestly made me feel like an ironing expert. If it has a con it would be that it didn't come with a pour spout water container to fill the water tank. Otherwise, I'd consider it a must-have staple for anyone that wants a tough iron that works efficiently.

It produces mega steam and of course the soleplate easily wipes clean with a damp towel or sponge. The self-cleaning button actually works (as compared to other irons I've owned) and I love the retractable cord (I hate when I am visiting home and have to wait for the iron to cool down and then have to wrap the cord around my mother's old iron). Heft is good and glides extremely well.

Nonstick service is excellent. Retractable cord works great. Heats up very fast. Controls are easy to use. Has a nice self clean button. Water tank has a lid that snaps tight so you won't have any leaks.

Love that it is digital, it makes it so easy to choose the temperature level. It heats quickly and irons all of my clothes so quickly and easily. The steaming function works great and it is so easy to use! One of my favorite features is the retractable cord. I hate To hassle with wrapping a long cord around an iron, so being able to wind with the a push of a button is awesome! If you’re looking for a new iron, I’d highly recommend this one! It does it all!
