Item # 472234449P254
Beginner 3-5 Hours

SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • 51"x 61" - Fleece fabric for front
  • 51"x 61" - Fleece fabric for back
  • Yarn skein
  • Darning needle
  • Pins
  • Scissors
  • Iron and ironing board

DIRECTIONS:

Finished Size - 50"x 60"
  1. Line up the right sides of your front and back fleece pieces. Pin.
  2. Stitch all four edges using a 1/2" seam allowance. Leave approx 8" open.
  3. Turn the blanket right side out. Press the entire blanket and also press the seam in on the 8" opening.
  4. Using your yarn and large needle, create a 1" blanket stitch around the perimeter of the throw.
  5. As a final decorative and functional detail, choose a pattern or random placement to tack the fleece together with yarn ties using your needle. Do a simple stitch and tie the yarn together in a double knot.

JOANN HACKS:

  • Clip the inner seam allowance edges of the corners to help keep them sharp when turning.
  • It's helpful to start the blanket stitch right after the 8" opening, therefore you can use that opening up until the end to tie the stitches inside. You will finish by closing the opening with your final blanket stitches.
