DIRECTIONS:
- Trace gift-shaped cut-out, two times, excluding bow, onto back of scrapbook paper. Cut out gift shapes with craft knife and ruler. Set aside.
- Trim dowel rod to 27". Smooth trimmed end with sandpaper.
- Tape off bow section of wood gift cut-outs at base of bow shapes. Paint bows red. Set aside to dry.
- Paint trimmed dowel rod red. Set aside to dry.
- Paint plank green, including edges. Set aside to dry.
- When all painted components are thoroughly dried, begin assembly.
- Mark placement of gift cut-outs on plank with pencil, tracing gift edges lightly. Visually center green wall hooks on gifts and mark lightly at corners.
- Apply school glue to unpainted portions of gift cuts-outs, spreading with finger and paying extra attention to edges. Apply paper shapes with clean hands, aligning paper while glue is still wet. When aligned, use bone folder to flatten paper starting from center of shape and working out in all directions. Set aside to dry.
- When glue has dried, apply a line of E6000 glue about 1/8" inside traced line on plank. Apply gift cut-outs and press down gently. Do not let glue squeeze beyond gift edges. Being careful not to disturb gift placement, apply E6000 glue to back of wall hook and apply to gift cut-out. Allow to dry overnight.
- Cut two 24" segments of gift cording. Insert ends of both cords into needle and thread through hole in one gift bow, front to back. Repeat on other gift. Knot both ends of cords, ensuring they do not pull through holes. Trim all cord ends to match lengths.
- Add ringed alligator clips to rod and place rod on hooks. Hang gift wrap holder.
JOANN HACKS:
- If using E6000 glue, it is important to allow glue to dry overnight before using gift wrap holder.
