Pillow with Flange Edge
SUPPLIES & TOOLS:
- 1 yd - denim for front and back pillow
- 2/3 yd - Harry Potter for flange
- 14"x 28" pillow form or 1 pkg polyfill
- Basic sewing supplies
DIRECTIONS:
- Cut 1 - 15"x 29" from denim.
- Cut 2 - 15"x 19" from denim for back.
- Hem one edge of each of the 2 back pieces.
- Overlap these two pieces (envelope style) to measure 29" long (same size as front).
- Cut- 8 pieces - 2 1/2" by WOF for flange.
- Mark center of top and bottom of pillow front.
- Mark center of 2 1/2" strips.
- With RST, pin strips to top and bottom.
- Stitch in place using a 1/2" seam, start and stopping 1/2" on each end.
- Mark center of both sides of pillow front.
- With RST, pin strips to sides start and stopping 1/2" on each end.
- Miter each corner.
- Repeat these steps for back.
- With RST, pin front to back and stitch around outside of flange using 1/2" seam.
- Turn pillow right side out
- Topstitch around seam of flange and pillow.
- Insert pillow or stuff with polyfil.
4 Pieced Quilted Pillow_x000B_
SUPPLIES & TOOLS:
- 20 pillow form
- 1/2 yd. - 4 Coordinating fabrics.
- 1/2" - Pillow back
- Basic sewing supplies
DIRECTIONS:
- Enlarge pattern to 20" square.
- Cut out the 4 pieces and add 1/2" to all sides.
- Piece together following the numbers on pattern.
- Piece 1 to 2 using 1/2" seam.
- Piece 1,2 piece to piece 3.
- Piece 1,2,3 to piece 4.
- Press and quilt as desired.
- Cut 2 back pieces, 21"x 14"
- Fold under and press one edge on each piece and topstitch.
- With RST, place back, (envelope style) over front.
- Stitch around 1/2" on all sides of pillow.
- Turn and press
- Insert pillow.
3 Pieced Quilted Pillow
SUPPLIES & TOOLS:
- 18" pillow form
- 1/2 yd. - 3 Coordinating fabrics.
- 1/2" - Pillow back
- Basic sewing supplies
DIRECTIONS:
- Enlarge pattern to 18" square.
- Cut out the 3 pieces and add 1/2" to all sides.
- Piece together following the numbers on pattern.
- Piece 1 to 2 using 1/2" seam.
- Piece 1,2 piece to piece 3.
- Press and quilt as desired.
- Cut 2 back pieces, 19"x 11" and 19"x 13"
- Fold under and press one edge on each piece and topstitch.
- With RST, place back, (envelope style) over front.
- Stitch around 1/2" on all sides of pillow.
- Turn and press
- Insert pillow.
Piped 20" and 12"x 18" pillow
SUPPLIES & TOOLS:
- 1 yd - Harry Potter fabric
- 20 pillow form
- 1/2 yd - Harry Potter fabric
- 14"x 18" pillow form or 1 pkg polyfill
- 1/2 yd ea pillow - piping
- 1 pkg - piping cord
- 2 yd - fusible fleece
- Basic sewing supplies
DIRECTIONS:
- For 20" pillow, cut 1 - 21"x 21" square and two 21"x 14" for backing.
- Cut 1 - 21" sq from fleece and 2 - 21"x 14" from fleece.
- Iron fleece to front and two back sections.
- For 12"x 18" pillow, cut 13"x 19" for front and two 13"x 14" for back.
- Cut 13"x 19" from fleece for front and two 13"x 14" for back.
- Iron fleece to front and back sections.
- Make a 1/2" hem on one side of each of back pieces.
Piping:
- Cut enough contrast fabric in 1 3/4" strips on the bias to cover 85" for 20" pillow and 68" for 14"x 18" pillow, joining strips at a 90 degree angle as needed.
- Fold fabric over cording, matching raw edges. Machine baste with zipper foot next to cord.
- Match raw edges of cording and right side to each pillow front. Stitch, clipping corners as necessary.
- Overlap ends at an angle or fold back fabric, trim cording, cover ends and stitch.
- Pin assembled back to front, RST. Stitch just inside the previous basted stitching, close to cording. Clip edges if necessary to lie flat. Turn and insert pillow form.

Harry Potter Pillows
Be sure to read the instructions thoroughly. In the supply list for the 3-Piece and the 4-Piece Quilted Pillows, it lists 1/2" of fabric for the pillow back. I'm sure it should be 1/2 yard.e sure to download the pdf--that is the pattern.
