Haunted Graveyard Cake

SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

• Wilton food-crafting supplies:
• 8" round cake pan_x000B_10x 16" cooling grid_x000B_6" lollipop sticks_x000B_Dark cocoa Candy Melts candy
• Graveyard icing decorations kit_x000B_Zombie hands decorating kit_x000B_Knife and cleaver royal icing decorations_x000B_6 cell halloween sprinkles_x000B_11" straight spatula_x000B_13" angled spatula_x000B_Parchment paper
• 10x 14" cake board
• Parchment triangles
• Spooky tree pattern


• You will also need:
• Favorite cake mix or recipe
• Chocolate buttercream frosting recipe (on wilton.com)

DIRECTIONS:

1. Bake cake. Prepare batter following recipe directions. Bake and cool 2" high cake.
2. Prepare icing. Make chocolate buttercream frosting recipe.
3. Assemble cake. Torte cake. Use chocolate icing to fill and spatula to ice.
4. Make candy tree. Copy spooky tree pattern. Place on cake board and cover with parchment paper. Melt Candy Melts candy following package directions and place in a prepared parchment bag; cut end of bag and fill in tree. Chill to set, about 10 to 15 min. Trim lollipop stick to 4" and attach to the back of the tree with melted candy. Make one extra to allow for breakage. Position tree in cake top.
5. Decorate. Write message on tombstones. Position on the cake, securing with icing. Add candy bones. Attach icing decorations and add sprinkles.
