SUPPLIES & TOOLS:
  • 1/2yd blue felt
  • 1/4yd beige felt for circle for front and ears
  • 1 package poly-fil
  • Hooded sweatshirt
  • Fabric glue
  • Basic sewing supplies

DIRECTIONS:
To find the downloadable patterns click on the "GET PATTERNS" tab above.

NOTE: Sew 1/4" seam allowance.
  1. Cut out 2 spike patterns.
  2. Cut out 4 outer ear patterns and 2 inner ears.
  3. With right sides together, sew front to back for spikes, keeping bottom open for stuffing.
  4. Clip curves and turn. Stuff - be careful not to stuff too densely. Leave a little room so there's some movement, and it's not too stiff and heavy.
  5. Pin opening closed and stitch 1/4" in from edge.
  6. Put sweatshirt on child and mark placement for spikes, going from forehead to back of head.
  7. Fold bottom 1/4" back and sew in place or glue.
  8. Glue or stitch the beige inner ear pieces to 2 outer ears.
  9. With right sides together, stitch 2 outer ears together, leaving bottom open. Make two.
  10. Turn and stuff.
  11. Stitch opening closed 1/4" from edge.
  12. Mark placement of ears on hood, fold under the 1/4" on bottom of ears to help in stitching onto hood.
  13. Cut out a circle from beige to fit the front of the hoodie.
  14. Sew or glue in place.
