SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • Berry Garland
  • Snowy Leaves Pinecone Bush
  • Eucalyptus White Berry Brush
  • 6pks of Darice Round Unfinished Wood Beads 25mm
  • 2pks of Craftwood Round Unifnished Wood Beads 20mm
  • Cotton Cord (Ecru)
  • Scissors
  • Wire cutters
  • Pliers
  • Large Needle (eye big enough to thread cording through)

DIRECTIONS:

Berry Garland:

  1. Lay out the berry garland, pull picks from the eucalyptus and snowy leaves bunches and attach them to the berry garland by twisting the metal end around the base of the berry garland. Use pliers to pinch wire and assist in wrapping it. Repeat down the garland, varying between the two so that you have a fuller garland with more greenery added.
  2. Trim off any excess wire with wire cutters after wrapping the end around the berry garland so there isn't any excess to snag.

Wood Bead Garland:

  1. Cut a piece of string 6 1/2' long. Thread the cord onto your beading needle and thread a bead onto the end of the cotton cord. Secure in place by knotting the bead on the cord. Leave a couple of inches as a tail.
  2. Thread on the wooden beads to the cord in the pattern of your choosing or leave them all the same. For the examples one uses 4 packs of 25mm beads and they are all the same. The other garland uses 2 packs of 25mm and 2 packs of 20mm in a pattern of three 20mm followed by two 25mm repeating until the end.
  3. Once you have beaded 6' of garland to match the length of your berry garland you can secure the last bead in place with a knot. Once the ends are secured with a few knots cut off any excess cord.

Craft Hack Tips and Tricks:

  • If you don't have a needle and the cord starts to fray or you're having trouble beading the beads onto the cord, use a small piece of tape to secure the end and assist in beading. (The effect is similar to the ends of a shoelace).
