SUPPLIES & TOOLS:
- Various patterned holiday fabrics
- Light gray fabric
- Wood dowel for hanging
- Pattern templates
- Scissors
- Iron
DIRECTIONS:
- Cut two pieces of light gray fabric 30"x 43" to be used as the back panel. Set aside.
- Cut five pieces of light gray fabric 4"x 4". Fold in half and sew along the edge 1/8". Turn the tube right side out and iron flat. These will be the tabs for hanging.
- Use the pattern templates to cut out each of the pockets using a variety of patterned fabrics. Be sure to add 1/2" to the edge of each pocket before cutting them out.
- Fold each edge of the pocket to the back 1/2" and iron them flat.
- Sew along the top of each pocket 1/2" from the top.
- Embroider the numbers on top of each pocket.
- Position the pockets on one piece of the light gray fabric as show below.
- Sew each pocket in place, leaving the top open.
- When each pocket it attached, place the other piece of light gray fabric on top, with right sides facing.
- At the top of the piece, fold each of the tabs in half and insert then between the two fabrics, with the folded edges inside and the raw edges matching the outer edge.
- Sew along the edge with 1" seams, leaving a hole at the bottom for turning.
- Clip the corners and turn the piece right side out. Iron flat.
- Top stitch along the edge of the piece.
- Place the wood dowel through the tabs at the top to hang.

What An Awesome Advent Calendar
So cute, easy to make, used the layout pattern for placement of pickets with a few of my own ideas… it turned out absolutely wonderful! Thanks for sending out the patterns! If ya sew, ya know!

Pocket measurements missing
I love this advent calendar. There is a picture of the pocket placement. However trying to calculate each measurement proves to be difficult.

Looking for the Template
I want to make this but the directions are somewhat fuzzy. It says to use the template to cut out each of the pockets. I don't see a template for the pockets unless you are talking about the "pattern" the is downloaded that shows where to put the pockets? Do I have to use that pattern to measure and figure out myself how big each pocket is? Thank you.
