Beginner 3-5 Hours
SUPPLIES & TOOLS:
  • Greenery Garland
  • Floral Wire
  • Yarn
  • Craftwood 20mm unfinished wood beads
  • Scissors
  • Pliers
  • Wire cutters
  • Mini Wooden Clothes Pins

DIRECTIONS:
  1. Cut the Greenery strand in half with wire cutters.
  2. Lay the greenery overlapping each other on your work surface so the two loop ends are out. Leave about 4” not overlapping on each end. Secure the greenery together on the ends by wire wrapping the cut end around the other portion of the greenery. Add floral wire for added reinforcement as needed. This will give you a greenery garland half the length with a thicker middle and taper thinner at the ends. Leaving the loops out will give you something to tie the yarn to when hanging.
  3. Cut and braid three pieces of yarn together approximately 24” long. Repeat so you have 6 braided strands.
  4. Cut another 7 strands of yarn roughly 24” long.
  5. Thread beads onto the yarn single and braided strands. Vary the amount of beads on each strand so some have 1, some have 2 and some have 3 beads. Do this to all the strands except 2 braided strands.
  6. Take the two braided strands without beads and tie one of the braided strands to each loop on the greenery strand. On the opposite end tie a loop securing with a knot. Repeat for both sides.
  7. Hang the greenery up from the yarn hangers you just created in step 6.
  8. Hang the braided and single yarn strands on the greenery varying the length. Once you have the strands how you want them secure them from the back onto the garland by knotting it to the wire base. Trim off any excess. Repeat for all 11 strands. Add more or less strands as desired.
  9. After hanging in final location add cards to the strands with small wooden clothes pins.

Craft Hack Tips and Tricks:
  • Its best to hang the garland when adding the strands in step 8, but if you do not have a spot to hang the garland from while working you can work flat and lay the strands onto the garland. Hanging will just give you a better idea at how the strands will fall.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Helpful instructions These were the most clear instructions in the series. It was helpful to know how to create a fuller garland by cutting in half then wiring together. I think I get intimidated to cut the garland but it turns out nice.
