SUPPLIES & TOOLS:
- 6 Panel Window Picture Frame
- Multi Surface Acrylic Paint (In desired colors)
- Medium and Small Brushes
- Pencil
- 6 sheets of 8 1/2"x11" White Computer Paper
- Painter's Tape
- Glass Cleaner
- Paper Towels
- Water for Clean Up
DIRECTIONS:
- Take the glass from the frames, clean both sides and set aside.
- Place 6 pieces of white paper on your work surface so one piece of paper is where each window pane is. Tape the paper in place so it doesn't shift on your work surface.
- Lay the frame over the pieces of paper and trace the outside edge of each frame onto each coordinating piece of paper.
- Using a pencil draw out your design on the paper. This will help you with spacing between the panes so your design lines up when painted onto the glass.
- Lay a piece of glass onto each piece of paper and paint on the design with acrylic paint. Let dry between coats.
- Once finished painting on the design to each pane of glass and the paint is fully dry clean around the painting carefully to remove any finger prints and smudges that may have been added while painting the glass.
- Insert each glass pane into the frame where it goes and secure on the back.
JOANN HACKS:
- Using a hair drier between coats of paint can help speed up the drying times.
- If you need help laying out the colors of your design before painting you can use crayons or markers to mark out color options on your paper to see what the overall picture will look like.
