SUPPLIES & TOOLS:
  • Macramé cord
  • Wood beads – assorted sizes
  • Assorted floral picks
  • Yarn
  • Scissors
  • Wire cutting tool
  • Floral wire
  • Hot glue gun
  • 10"x 10" Piece of cardboard

DIRECTIONS:
  1. Use scissors to cut a 4' piece of macramé cord. On one end of the cord, fold the end down and tie a knot, creating a loop.

  2. Begin stranding wood beads on the cord, creating desired pattern using different sizes of beads. Once the beaded area is about 3' in length, fold the end of the cord down and tie a knot to secure the loop. There should be a loop on each end of the beaded cord.

  3. Use the wire cutting tool to trim down floral picks into smaller pieces. Combine multiple floral picks together and secure by wrapping a small piece of floral wire around the end of the stems. Using a hot glue gun, attach a piece of macramé cord to the end of the stems, covering the floral wire. Create a loop with the cord and attach it through the loop on the end of the long beaded cord. Add more hot glue and wrap the excess cord to secure in place.

  4. Create a yarn tassel by taping the end of a piece of yarn to a 10"x 10" piece of cardboard. Begin wrapping the yarn around the cardboard at least 15-20 times. Use scissors to cut a 9" piece of macramé cord, and a 5" piece of yarn. Stick the 9" piece of cord through the top of the cardboard and through the loop of yarn. Tie in a tight knot. Remove the yarn from the cardboard carefully, and use scissors to cut the bottom end loops. Use the 5" piece of yarn to tie around the top, about 1/2" from the top.

  5. Using the ends of the macramé cord at the top of the tassel, create a loop and attach to the loop on the beaded cord, attaching it next to the floral picks. Apply hot glue to secure the macramé cord loop in place, wrap the excess cord around and secure with hot glue.

  6. Repeat steps 3-5 for the opposite end of the beaded cord.
