HOW MUCH FABRIC DO I NEED FOR MY UPHOLESTRY PROJECT?
1. Measure the length and width of each cushion from seam to seam, and measure the side panels of the cushions.
2. Add these numbers together, and add an inch for each seam allowance.
3. Measure the back of the chair or sofa from seam to seam, and add one-inch seam allowances.
4. Measure the length and width of the front of the sofa. 5. Measure the inside and outside of the arms and the seating area with the cushions removed.
6. Add all of these numbers, then divide by 36 to determine the yardage.
7. Keep in mind that upholstery fabric is usually 54 inches wide.
