Rnd 2: *C2F, p2, C4F, C4B, p2; rep from * around.
Rnd 6: *C2F, p2, k8, p2; rep from * around.
Rep Rnds 1-8 for patt.
K2, P2 Rib
Rnd 1: *K2, p2; rep from * around.
Rep Rnd 1 for patt.
With circular needle, cast on 84 sts. Pm and join in the rnd, being careful not to twist sts. Work in K2, P2 Rib until piece measures 2” from beg.
Next rnd (increase): *K2, p2, kfb, k1, p2, kfb, k1, p2; rep from * around—98 sts.
Work in Cable Patt until piece measures 7" from beg, ending with Rnd 8.
Note: Change to double point needles when work no longer fits comfortably on circular needle. Keep sts in patt when possible while shaping, working in St st when cable cannot be completed.
Rnd 1: *K2, p2, k2, ssk, k2tog, k2, p2; rep from * around—84 sts.
Rnds 2, 4, 6, 8, 10: Work even in patt.
Rnd 3: *K2, p2, ssk, k2tog, k2, p2; rep from * around—70 sts.
Rnd 5: *K2, p2tog, k4, p2tog; rep from * around—56 sts.
Rnd 7: *K2, p1, ssk, k2tog, p1; rep from * around—42 sts.
Rnd 9: *K2tog, p1, k2tog, p1; rep from * around—28 sts.
Rnd 11: *K2tog; rep from * around—14 sts.
Rnd 12: Rep Rnd 11—7 sts.
Cut yarn, draw through rem sts, pull tight and secure.
Weave in ends. Block lightly.
