_x000D_
_x000D_ NOTES
_x000D_ The baby sleep sack is worked in a spiral from the base until the front opening. There is no seaming involved.
_x000D_ For best results, make sure before you insert each loop into the next, there is not a “twist” in the lp. A twist will result in a less even, more open look.
_x000D_
_x000D_ DIRECTIONS
_x000D_ Step 1: With the end of the yarn, pass the 2nd lp into the 1st lp.
_x000D_ Then, pass the 3rd lp into the 2nd lp. Rep this process, passing the 4th lp into the 3rd lp, 5th lp into the 4th lp, etc until you have done this 14 times total. You will have made 13 “Vs.”
_x000D_ Step 2: Position your piece so that the “Vs” you’ve just made are facing you. Each “V” has two spaces you can insert yarn into- 1 on the left and 1 on the right. Working around counter-clockwise while holding the strand of yarn in your right hand, with the next lp of yarn in line (not the last lp you pulled through in step 1, but the one to the left of it), insert this lp from back to front into the very next space to the left of the last lp you made in Step 1. Rep this around, inserting each lp from back to front, into the next space available across the side edge- you should have 13 lps plus the original lp from step 1. The left side of the “Vs will each have a lp now.
_x000D_ Rotate your work 180 degrees and rep this across the right space in the “Vs.”, placing 12 lps into 12 spaces. You will end next to the last lp you made in step 1. Each lp is a st now. (26 sts)
_x000D_ Step 3:  Locate the st to the left of the last lp you made. Insert the next available lp from the yarn ball from back to front into the this lp. Mark this stitch. This is the beg of your rnd.
_x000D_ Continue to insert, from back to front, one lp for each st around until you reach the beg of the rnd.
_x000D_ One row is complete.
_x000D_
_x000D_ Rep Step 3 until the piece measures 16” from the bottom edge.
_x000D_
_x000D_ Neck Opening
_x000D_ Step 1: Work 3 more sts beyond the beg of the rnd- you can unmark the beg of the rnd stitch from this point forward. You will now be “binding off” the next 9 sts. To do this, count two lps over from the last st you made.
_x000D_ With this lp in your hand, pass it into the lp on the right and pull through. (1 st bound off) *Take the next lp on the left and pass it through the lp you just made. (1 st bound off) Cont to work this way until you have bound off 9 sts altogether. There will be 17 sts rem.
_x000D_
_x000D_ You will now be working back and forth in rows.
_x000D_ Step 2: Take the next available yarn lp from the ball of yarn and insert it, from back to front, into the last st you made from Step 1. Rep this process, working from left to right, inserting the next available lp into the st to the right.
_x000D_ Step 3: Rep as for Step 2 but work from right to left and insert the yarn from back to front into each lp.
_x000D_
_x000D_ Rep Steps 2 and 3 until the piece measures 8” from neck opening.
_x000D_ Work Bind off over 9 sts. 8 sts rem. Fold the hood in half so that the bound off section is on top and the looped section is on the bottom. Push through each lp into the top strand of the bound off sts, skip sts to ensure an even distribution if necessary. Next, work the Bind off over these 8 sts. 1 lp remains.
_x000D_
_x000D_ Head Opening Edging
_x000D_ Working around, insert 1 lp into each space along the entire hood opening.
_x000D_ Work Bind off, starting with the first lp of the round. Cut the last lp and pull through. Then, take that strand and insert it into the first lp you made around the opening, joining the beginning and end together.
_x000D_
_x000D_ FINISHING
_x000D_ Weave in all ends. Securely fasten off last lp with a bit of sewing thread and needle.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Loop Yarn Sleep Sack This is a fun little project and fairly easy if you take the time to really digest the instructions. Wish there was a video that went along with it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I crochet and this was fairly simple and fast I saw this weird stuff at Joann's today and decided to give it a try. I am fairly experienced at crochet, and my arms have started aching, carpal tunnel or something, so when I saw something similar and new I decided to try it. I can read a crochet pattern. That probably helped figure out what I was supposed to do. I felt confident enough to make this fit a doll I'm giving for Christmas... I made it much shorter. The yarn works, a video is badly needed for those who really can't make heads or tails out of crochet instructions. My little bunting turned out pretty cute, not perfect, in fact I had a stray loop inside. I sewed it down. Also I think I must have been inconsistent with bring the loop in from the back because I have inconsistent ridges, I put them in back and turned it inside out because the finish at the top was ugly. I'd probably be better next time. I think the yarn is a good fit for beginners but someone should make a video of a scarf or something, it's not really intuitive. I didn't have a tapestry needle handy so I ended up just using sewing needle and thread to sew down the ends. It seemed to work.
