STITCH GUIDE
Bind off: Starting at the corner, pass the 2nd lp into the 1st lp, then pass the 3rd lp into the 2nd lp, then the 4th lp into the 3rd, etc. all the way across.

NOTES
To attach a new balls of yarn, simple start inserting the new balls first loop into the next available stitch on your blanket. Tie off the tail ends of the strands and weave them in later.

For best results, make sure before you insert each loop into the next, there is not a “twist” in the lp. A twist will result in a less even, more open look.

DIRECTIONS
With Color A, starting from the end of the yarn, count off 54 lps.
Setup: Taking the next lp (the 55th loop) in hand, insert the 55th lp from back to front into the 54th lp. (1 st is made.)
Rep this process. You are essentially working from left to right across and inserting the 56th lp into the 53rd lp, the 56th lp into the 52nd lp, the 57th lp into the 51st lp, etc. across all the first 54 lps.
(54 sts made.) One row is complete.

Pattern Stitch
In Step 1, you will be working a stitch pattern that makes a “wave” in the knitting. When the directions say to “take the next available lp and insert it into 2 sts” you will essentially be decreasing 1 stitch. When the directions say to “skip 1 lp” you will want to make sure you are skipping the next available lp of yarn (and not skipping a stitch). This is essentially an increase. You will always have 54 sts after working each row.
Step 1: Working from right to left and inserting all lps from back to front, *(take the next available lp and insert it into 2 sts) x 3, (skip 1 lp, insert the next available lp into the next st) x 6, (take the next available lp and insert it into 2 sts) x 3; rep from * two times more. Count to make sure you have 54 sts across your row.
Step 2: Working from left to right, insert 1 lp from back to front into each st across.
Step 3: Working from right to left, insert 1 lp from front to back (creating a ridge on the right side of your work) into each st across.
Step 4: Rep Step 2.

Rep Steps 1-4, working 8 rows of each color until there are 4 sections of Color A and 3 sections of Color B. End having worked Step 4.

FINISHING
To finish off the blanket, start at the corner that does not have the yarn attached. Work Bind off until one lp remains.  Cut the last lp yarn and pull through. Securely fasten off last lp with a bit of sewing thread and needle. Weave in all ends.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible pattern Not only is the instructions written poorly. But it has to be missing steps. After a fourth of the blanket done. I’m not happy with the outcome. The edges are pulling inward the further you go. Also the pattern instructions are not the blanket in picture. Yes waves. But not the changing colors. Use your imagination for what you wan for color changes.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Pattern doesn’t make sense Feather and fan pattern is, I believe, incomplete as written. I could not find it on You Tube. There are basic patterns but none for fan and feather as shown here. I don’t know where to turn for help. Product is great but pattern is worthless as written.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy as Pie @Whitetail @Paula if you go to YouTube they have a bunch of videos explaining step by step how to make the blanket! It's too bad you gave such a negative review. I've made a couple of these blankets in record time. Even a beginner can follow the YouTube instructions. These reviews might deter even a beginner from crafting such a beautiful and cozy blanket. They make great gifts too!
