DESCRIPTION +

SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • Blackboard Surface
  • Acrylic Paint: White, Black, Midnight Black, Turquoise, Vivid Violet
  • Natural Sponge
  • Stiff Bristle Brush
  • Small Detail Brush
  • Light Pencil

DIRECTIONS:

    Note: Two coats of paint may be needed. Allow paint to dry thoroughly between coats.
    Refer to photo for color shading and highlighting.
  1. Use a medium sized piece of sponge to paint blackboard randomly with both black paints; some of the chalkboard will show through.
  2. Lightly sketch design onto board.
  3. Lightly dab colors on, fading the edges out.
  4. Dip tips of stiff bristle brush into white paint and use your thumb to speckle paint over board.
  5. Use small detail brush to make star bursts. (refer to photo)

JOANN Hacks:

  • Do not load up the sponge with too much paint.
  • Cut Natural sponge into smaller pieces.
