How To Make A Cloud Mobile

DESCRIPTION +

SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • 1/2" yard grey fleece fabric
  • Felt squares in: sparkly white, light pink, black & light blue (2)
  • White worsted weight yarn
  • Sewing machine
  • Basic sewing supplies
  • Poly-Fil
  • Pattern

DIRECTIONS:

  1. To print the patterns, click on the "Download Project PDF" button (above).
  2. Using pattern, cut: 2 cloud pieces out of grey fleece, 2 eyes and one smile out of sparkly white felt, two small circles out of pink felt, 2 small circles out of black felt, and 23 raindrop pieces out of blue felt.
  3. Place and top-stitch eyes, cheeks, and mouth onto face of cloud.
  4. Braid three 10" lengths of white yarn together, and knot the ends. Place loop at top center of the cloud face.
  5. Cut 13 lengths of white yarn for the bottom of the cloud, and machine tack into place. From right to left of the photo, the lengths shown are: 11", 5-1/2", 13", 3", 7-1/2", 5", 13-1/2", 8-1/2", 11", 2-1/2", 7", 5", and 9-1/2".
  6. Pin back side of the cloud to the cloud "face" right sides together, and all yarn inside. Stitch around entre cloud, leaving one small opening on the side for turning. Stuff cloud with Poly-fil, and hand stitch opening closed.
  7. Topstitch each raindrop together, leaving a small opening at the top. Stuff each piece lightly with fiber fill, and then topstitch closed, while attaching each raindrop top bottom of yarn from cloud.
