SNOWMAN SCARF (make 11: 6 with C and D, 5 with E and F)
Beginning Chain: Leaving 4” (10 cm) beginning and ending tails of each color, with lighter color make a slip knot and place it on hook, [yarn over with darker color and draw through loop on hook, yarn over with lighter color and draw through loop on hook] 12 times—24 ch. Row 1: Working in back bars only of beginning ch, skip first darker ch, [insert hook in next lighter color ch, yarn over with lighter color and draw through ch (2 loops on hook), yarn over with darker color and draw through both loops on hook, insert hook in next darker color ch, yarn over with darker color and draw through ch, yarn over with lighter color and draw through both loops on hook] 11 times, with lighter color, sc in last lighter color ch. Fasten off. Fringe: Tie the 4 long tails on one end of scarf together with an overhand knot. Cut an 8” (20.5 cm) strand of each color. Hold the two strands together and thread them through the opposite end of the scarf, folding the strands in half so that the ends meet. Tie these strands with an overhand knot. Trim ends, as desired. Tie each scarf around one snowman’s neck. Sew in place, if desired.
HAT (make 11 – 1 for each snowman)
With B, ch 2. Round 1: Work 7 sc in 2nd ch from hook; do not join, work in continuous rounds (spiral)—7 sc. Place a marker in the last sc made and move marker up as each round is completed. Round 2: Work 2 sc in each st around— 14 sc. Round 3: Sc in each st around. Round 4 (hat band): Sc in each st around; join with slip st in front loop only of first sc. Round 5: Working in front loops only, *ch 1, slip st in next st; repeat from * around, ch 1; join with slip st in beginning ch-1. Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing.

FLOWER FOR HAT (make 11: 6 with C and D, 5 with E and F) With lighter color, embroider 3 Lazy Daisy loops on hat band forming a half flower. With darker color, embroider French Knot for center of flower wrapping yarn around needle twice. Sew one hat to top of each snowman’s head, matching flower and scarf color.

SNOWFLAKE (make 19)
With A, ch 4; join with slip st in first ch to form a ring. Round 1: Pull loop on hook up about ¾” (2 cm), [small-puff in ring, ch 1] 6 times; join with slip st in first small-puff—6 small-puffs and 6 ch-1 spaces. Round 2: *(Slip st, ch 3, slip st, ch 3, slip st) in next ch-1 space between small-puffs, ch 3; repeat from * around; join with slip st in first slip st. Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing. Sew one snowflake to each of the 6 points across top edge of throw and each of the 7 points across lower edge of throw. Sew top (hat) of one snowman in each dip between points across top and lower edges of throw, alternating the scarf colors. Sew one snowflake to each of the 4 corners of throw. Sew one snowflake to top edge of throw between last point and corner snowflake. Sew one snowflake to tope edge of throw between first point and corner snowflake. _x000B_
SNOWMAN ARMS (make 22 – 2 arms for each snowman)
Cut 22 strands of G, each 24” (61 cm). Flatten snowman’s body. Fold one strand of G in half. With right side of one snowman facing, insert hook through Round 4 of snowman’s body along edge, place fold of G on hook and draw fold through to form a loop on hook. Holding both ends of strand together, ch 5 and fasten off. Using an overhand knot, tie end of arm to side of snowflake, so that arm slants upward. Trim yarn ends as desired (yarn ends form snowman’s fingers). Repeat to make and attach two arms to each snowman.
FINISHING
Weave in any remaining ends.
