DESCRIPTION +

SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • Lion Brand® Homespun Yarn - Colors: Claret, Shaker
  • Caron® Simply Soft Yarn - Color: Charcoal Heather
  • Red Heart® Grande Yarn - Colors: Oatmeal, Foggy
  • Three different sizes of pom pom makers: sm, med, lg
  • Hot gun & glue sticks
  • Sheet of foam core 16"x16"
  • X-Acto® knife
  • Dinner Plate
  • Pencil
  • Scissors

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Using a dinner plate or serving plate, trace it onto the sheet of foam core and cut it out with and X-Acto® knife. Make a smaller tracing on the inside of the circle about 2" away from the outer circle. Cut this out as well to create a circle hoop.
  2. Follow the directions on the pom pom maker to create three different sizes of poms of various colors. If desired, mix the yarn to give some of the pom poms a speckled look. Make 50-60, depending on how full a look is desired.
  3. After making all of the pom poms, attempt a dry run placement of the pom poms, varying the sizes and color placement. The overall look should be one of hilly terrain to give the wreath depth.
  4. Once placement has been established, glue them in place with hot glue. Be sure to glue in between the pom poms and press the yarn strands together to help hold the pom poms in place.
