SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • Floral Stems:
  • Ranunculus, pink, small, 1
  • Ranunculus, dusty rose, 30", 3
  • Rose Bush, red, 17", 2
  • Rose, orange, 25", 1 & 15", 1
  • Chrysanthemum, dark red, 25", 1
  • Magnolia Spray, toast, 1
  • Thistle Spray, 1
  • Berry Bush, 4
  • Floral Wire, 26 gauge
  • Floral Tape
  • Wire Cutters
  • 1 1/2"x 21' satin ribbon, dark orange, 1 & mustard yellow, 1
  • Scissors
  • Hot glue gun/glue gun stick

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Cut one piece of floral wire 10" long.
  2. Spread the bush floral so individual stems are pointing different directions.
  3. Gather the individual flower stems in one hand. Vary the height and colors of stems. Use wire cutters to remove any leaves that may be gathered in the handle of the bouquet. Side cut any lumps off the stems that land in the handle area.
  4. While holding the bouquet, place the large stem of one Rose Bush floral with the other stems. Bend the flower stems of the Rose Bush around the other flower stems. Repeat for the other Rose Bush stem.
  5. Insert Thistle and Berry Bushes into the arrangement, bending to avoid large clumps of one texture.
  6. Adjust the height and directions of all the floral by bending the stems directly under the flower heads.
  7. Twist tie the 10" piece of wire around the handle of stems, close to the base of the flowers.
  8. Use the wire cutters to trim the stems to the same length.
  9. Twist tie floral wire around the base of the stems. Tightly spiral this wire all the way to the base of the flowers, over the initial wire wrap.
  10. Spiral one tightly wound wrap of floral tape around the handle of the bouquet, covering the wire. This tape sticks to itself.
  11. Spiral one color of ribbon, starting under the base of the flowers, overlapping each wrap by 3/4" down to the cut ends of the handle. Cut and hot glue the end. Cut one 3/4" piece of coordinating color ribbon. Place the center over the cut ends of the stems. Hot glue in place. Add a line of hot glue down the center of each side of the ribbon and press to the sides of the handle. Carefully add small amounts of glue to the sides of the ribbon. Fold over the sides to secure to the handle. Start a new wrap of ribbon over the glued sides. Fold under the end of the ribbon and hot glue to the side of the stems. Spiral up to the base of the flowers. Cut the ribbon, fold under the end and hot glue to the stems.
  12. Add lengths of ribbon to the handle. Determine the desired length by holding the bouquet and measuring from the handle by the base of the flowers down. Cut lengths of ribbon 2 times the desired length plus the diameter of the handle. Use a square knot to tie to the handle. If desired add draping bows by knotting the ribbon at at the base of the flowers.
