DIRECTIONS:
Unicorn
  1. Cut a piece of white fleece 15” square. Set aside.
  2. Cut two more pieces of white fleece 15” x 9.5”. on each piece, fold one of the 15” sides over ½” and sew down. Set aside.

  3. To print the patterns, click on the "Download Project PDF" button (above).
  4. Cut out four ear shapes in white fleece. Place two together and sew along the outer edges of the ear, leaving the bottom open. Repeat for other ear. Turn ears right side out and top stitch on both. Set ears aside.

  5. Cut out two horn shapes in beige felt. Sew together along the outer edges and along the lines shown on the pattern template. Set aside.

  6. Cut strips of green and lime green fleece 8” x 3.5”

  7. Lay out the 15” square white fleece. Position the ears and horn in place, upside down, right side facing the front of the pillow cover. Pin in place.

  8. Layer the green and lime green fleece around the top and the side of the pillow, overlapping the previous color halfway. Make sure that the pieces will be sandwiched inside the pillow sides.

  9. Lay one white 15” x 9.5” piece on the top of the pillow, with the sewn side in the middle of the pillow. Lay the other 15” x 9.5” piece on the bottom with the sewn side also in the middle, overlapping the top piece. Make sure the corners are lined up and pin in place.

  10. Sew around the outer edge of the pillow with a ½” seam allowance.

  11. Clip the corners of the pillow, and turn right side out.

  12. Cut out poinsettia shapes in red and white.

  13. Fold the white piece in half length wise and sew up the long edge. Make small cuts on the folded edge a ¼” apart, cutting only to the stitched line. Roll the piece and sew at the bottom to keep in place. This is the middle of the poinsettia.

  14. Sew five individual petals to the middle white piece.

  15. Hot glue the top of the flower to the larger red poinsettia piece.

  16. Make two more poinsettias.

  17. Hot glue the poinsettias in place at the base of the unicorn’s horn.

  18. Cut two eye pieces from the black felt. Hot glue in place on the front of the pillow.

  19. Place the pillow form inside the pillow cover.

  20. Cut the green and lime green fleeces in half and knot together around the whole edge.
*Repeat this process for the Lion and the Arctic Fox patterns.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from great project but...... I have read this over as a consideration of a project to do with grandchildren. The instructions do not seem complete enough. Where is the explanation for the lion's mane? More detailed instructions would be most helpful. Is there a pictorial set of instructions? I would not recommend this to anyone at this point as I find it confusing.
