SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • Pencil
  • Removable tape
  • Royal Brites poster board, 14"x 22", 3 pack
  • Crayola Washable Watercolors, 16 pack
  • Large flat wash brush
  • Crayola Washable Markers, Super Tips, 20 pack
  • Construction paper, 1 pack
  • Scissors
  • Non-Toxic glue
  • Dice
  • Wild Republic, Farm Nature Tube, 1 pack

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Use tape to secure two panels of poster board together on the back side. The final size will be 22"x 28".
  2. Transfer the large template image to the poster board.
  3. Use the brush to apply the watercolors as seen in the image. Wash the paint close to the transferred image lines. Locations have been placed for the cut out images. These locations may be painted through. Leave all lines visible through the paint.
  4. As the paint is drying, transfer the small templates to the appropriate colors of construction paper.
  5. Cut out the images around the outside edges of the outlines.
  6. Once the paint has dried, use the markers to outline the path. See detail image. The template lines have been drawn as smooth curves and straight lines. The final marker lines may be irregular, softened to reflect the casual nature of the farm.
  7. Continue to use the markers to outline the lake, lines for the garden, plants in the garden, flower stems and leaves, post and straw for the scarecrow and tufts of grass by the barn and scarecrow.
  8. With non toxic glue, attach the cutouts in the locations identified on the large template.
  9. To play the game use the animals as players pieces. Roll the dice to move the animals through the farm. Jump over the scarecrow and land on the bridge and stepping stones when crossing the river.
  10. Some of the other animals may want to graze in the fields or hang out in the lake.
