SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • Pliers
  • Floral wire, green, 22 gauge
  • Wire cutters
  • Hot glue gun/glue sticks
  • Yong Heng Da Handworks Limited, 12" Wire Disk Golden color, one
  • Oriental Craft, Large Triple Chain Hanger, one
  • Floral picks:
  • Sincere Creates & Manufactures Ltd.:
  • 30" Hanging Green and Red tips, five
  • Greenery pick, five
  • Global Best Industrial Ltd.:
  • Echeveria Lola pick, seven (four purple, 3 peach)
  • Sedum and Fern pick, two
  • Mini Succulent pick, two

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Use pliers to slowly bend part way closed the three cup hooks at the bottom of the three chains. Place the wreath frame with the curved side up. Place one of the three cup hooks over every other crossbar on the wreath frame. Use pliers to completely close the cup hooks on to the frame.
  2. Hang the frame. Cut the hanging greens into three stems each. Spiral wire around the ends of the stems to secure to the wreath frame. Spiral sections of the green around the frame. Continue around the frame adding new sections of greens by tucking the ends under already secured picks. Leave some sections hanging.
  3. Lay the wreath flat on a work surface stretching out the hanging portions away from the underside of the frame.
  4. Take the stems off the Echeveria Lola picks. Lay the picks on the wreath so the flowers may be seen from all sides of the wreath. Some should be toward the outer ring of the wreath and some on top. When the wreath is hanging any picks located on inner wires of wreath may not be noticeable. Add hot glue to the backs of the picks and press in place.
  5. Cut the Sedum and Fern picks and cut into five separate stems. Tuck the ends of the stems behind the Echeveria Lola picks. Once all the picks have a location on the wreath hot glue them in place.
  6. Cut the Mini Succulent picks into 5 stems each. Place these stems around the top and sides of the wreath. Hot glue them in place.
  7. Cut the Greenery picks in to four stems each. Use these picks to fill in any spaces. Hot glue the stems in place.

  8. JOANN Hacks:

    • Begin this project working on a tabletop. Lift often to make sure that there are a good number of greens draping off the sides of the wreath.
    • When arranging the Hanging Green and Red Tips flip the wreath frame over often to inspect the coverage of the underside of the frame.
    • The Echeveria Lola petals may not stay in place with hot glue alone if the wreath is handled a great deal. Add a 6"-8" piece of floral wire to the wire frame and secure around the back center of the flower.
    • Cover the work surface. Some hot glue may drip through the wreath.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hanging Floral wreath I think this is a wonderful idea as a centerpiece, and I will try this to make this. Thanks for the idea.
