GAUGE:

NOTES:
Vest is worked in one piece in 3 steps. Right Front is worked first beginning at center back. Stitches are worked along opposite side of the Right Front foundation chain to begin Left Front. Then stitches are worked along one long edge of front piece to begin the Back.
Piece is folded and sewn together following diagrams.

RIGHT FRONT:
Ch 50.
Row 1 (WS): Sc in 2nd ch from hook, *ch 5, sk next 3 ch, sc in next ch, ch 4, sk next 3 ch, sc in next ch, ch 5, sk next 3 ch, sc in next ch; rep from * across - you will have 13 sc, 8 ch-5 sps, and 4 ch-4 sps (for 4 pattern reps) in this row.

FINISHING:
Following diagrams, fold fronts over back. Leaving about 9 in. (23 cm) below fold open for armholes, sew side seams for about 12 in. (30.5 cm), leave remainder of side edges unsewn for side slits.

Armhole Edging:
From RS, join yarn with sc anywhere along one armhole edge. Work sc evenly spaced around armhole edge, working 2 sc in each ch-sp and 1 sc where back is joined to front; join with sl st in first sc.
Fasten off.
Rep around other armhole edge.

Vest Edging:
From RS, join yarn with sc anywhere along outside edge of Vest. Work sc evenly spaced all the way around the outside edge working 3 sc in each ch-sp along lower edge, 3 sc in each corner, 2 sc in each ch-sp along front, neck and slit edges, and 1 sc in end of foundation ch at back neck; join with sl st in first sc.
Fasten off.

Weave in ends.
