  • 1 can Chocolate frosting
  • 1 bag Cocoa Candy Melts
  • 12" x 18" baking pan
  • Baking Spray with Flour

  • Parchment paper
  • Holiday floral

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Beat eggs with electric mixer, on high for five minutes. Add cake mix, oil and water.
  2. Line baking pan with parchment paper and lightly spray with baking spray.
  3. Pour mixture into pan and bake at 350 degrees for 12-15 minutes.
  4. Sprinkle linen dishtowel with powdered sugar. Cover baking pan with towel and carefully flip cake onto towel. Remover parchment paper from cake.
  5. Gently roll towel and cake together. Allow cake to cool on baking rake for 30 minutes.
  6. Once the cake is cooled, unroll cake and frost one side with white icing. Roll cake again and place on cake board. Frost the outside with chocolate icing.
  7. Melt Cocoa Candy and pour onto parchment, spread evenly. Put another piece of parchment over chocolate and roll. Chill until chocolate hardens. Unroll parchment. Place chocolate pieces on top of yule log to create a tree bark effect. Add floral.
  8. Keep cake in refrigerator until ready to serve.

Craft Hack Tips and Tricks:

  • After frosting and rolling yule log cake, cut one end at an angle. Use this piece to create a cut branch on the side of the log.
  • Once cake is chilled, melt chocolate candy and brush onto “tree bark". This will create a more realistic look to the cake.
