Beginner Weekend Project

SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • Latch Hook Canvas, 3 3/4 Mesh, 36"x 60"
  • Latch Hook
  • Red Heart Super Saver Yarn, Oatmeal
  • Red Heart Super Saver Yarn, Gold
  • Lion Brand Yarns, Wool-Ease, Fisherman
  • Lion Brand Yarns, Wool-Ease, Rose Heather
  • Buttercream Luxe Craft, Mohair Brushed Yarn, Pumpkin
  • Sharpie® marker
  • Scissors
  • Wood Dowel, 7/16"x 36"

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Cut a piece of the latch hook mesh 10"x 12".
  2. Cut pieces of the Fisherman yarn 15" long for the longest fringe. Fold each piece in half and latch hook onto the bottom ten rows of the mesh.
  3. Cut piece of the Oatmeal yarn 10" long for the medium fringe. Fold each piece in half and latch hook onto the next five rows.
  4. To create the top portion, use a Sharpie marker to draw the desired design onto the mesh. Draw out sections that will be filled with color.
  5. Cut pieces of the Gold, Rose Heather, Pumpkin, and Fisherman yarn 4" long. Use each color to fill in a section of the design with desired color.
  6. Cut down the wood dowel to 24" long.
  7. Tie the top of the wall hanging to the wood dowel with the Oatmeal yarn.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it! I made this and love it! I ended up doubling the size of the canvas, because I wanted to put it over our dining room table. I also picked a different color. It took me a LOT longer than a weekend, but I think that was due to the size and the fact I only worked on it during nap times and late at night. I’m so happy with it though!
