DIRECTIONS:

STITCH EXPLANATION:
Cl (3 double crochet cluster) Yarn over, insert hook in indicated st, yarn over and draw up a loop, yarn over and draw through 2 loops on hook (2 loops rem on hook), (yarn over, insert hook in same st, yarn over and draw up a loop, yarn over and draw through 2 loops on hook) twice; yarn over and draw through all 4 loops on hook.

NOTE:
Cowl is crocheted in one piece, back and forth in rows, and then seamed.

COWL: Ch 20.
Set-up Row (RS): Dc in 4th ch from hook (3 skipped ch count as dc), dc in next 10 ch, (ch 1, sk next ch, dc in next ch) twice, dc in last 2 ch - you will have 16 dc and 2 ch-1 sps.
Row 1: Ch 1, turn, sc in first 3 dc, (Cl in next ch-1 sp, sc in next dc) twice, sc in each dc to beg ch, sc in top of beg ch-3 - 16 sc and 2 Cl.
Row 2: Ch 3 (counts as dc), turn, sk first sc, dc in next 11 sc, (ch 1, sk next Cl, dc in next sc) twice, dc in last 2 sc.

Repeat Rows 1 and 2 until piece measures about 28" (68.5 cm) from beg, end with a Row 1 as the last row you work.
Fasten off.

FINISHING:
Sew ends of piece together to make a ring.

Weave in ends.
