STITCH EXPLANATION:Double Yarn Over
An increase that also creates an eyelet in the fabric, worked as follows:
Bring yarn to front, between the needles.
Take yarn to back, over the right hand needle.
Repeat steps 2 and 3 to make 2 loops on the right hand needle.
NOTES:
Shawl is worked in one piece at a loose gauge.
The eyelets on this design are made by working double yarn overs.
Edges of the Shawl will roll gently.
SHAWL:
Cast on 57 sts.
Beginning with a RS (knit) row, work in St st (k on RS, p on WS) for 27 rows.

Row 1 (WS): Knit.
Row 2: *K2tog, double yarn over; rep from * to last st, knit last st.
Note: When you work Row 3, the loops from the double yarn overs will seem quite long and loose.
Row 3: *K1, drop one loop of the next double yarn over off the left hand needle, then knit into the remaining yarn over loop; rep from * to last st, knit last st.
Row 4 (RS): Knit.
Row 5: Purl.
Row 6: Knit.
Rows 7-24: Rep Rows 1-6.
Rows 25-27: Rep Rows 1-3.
Stockinette st Section
Rows 28-54: Beginning with a RS (knit) row, work in St st.
Rep Rows 1-54 for 4 more times.
Bind off.
FINISHING:
Weave in ends.
