Back
Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook, *ch 1, sk next ch, sc in next ch; rep from * to last ch, sc in last ch - 25 (31) sc and 23 (29) ch-1 sps.
Row 2: Ch 1, turn, sc in first st, *ch 1, sk next sc, sc in next ch-1 sp; rep from * to last st, sc in last st.

Rep Row 2 until piece measures about 25" (26) (63.5 (66) cm) from beg.
Do not fasten off.

Left Front
Row 1 (Dividing Row): Ch 1, turn, sc in first st, (ch 1, sk next sc, sc in next ch-1 sp) 11 (14) times, sc in next st; leave remaining sts unworked for right front—13 (16) sc and 11 (14) ch-1 sps.
Row 2: Ch 1, turn, sc in first st, *ch 1, sk next sc, sc in next ch-1 sp; rep from * to last st, sc in last st.

Rep Row 2 until left front measures about 29" (30) (73.5 (76) cm) from Dividing Row and entire piece measures about 54 (56) in. (137 (1/2) cm) from beg.
Fasten off.

Right Front
Join yarn with sl st in first unworked ch-1 sp of back following last st of Row 1 of left front.
Row 1 (Dividing Row): Ch 1, sc in same ch-1 sp as joining, *ch 1, sk next sc, sc in next ch-1 sp; rep from * to last st, sc in last st - 13 (16) sc and 11 (14) ch-1 sps.
Row 2: Ch 1, turn, sc in first st, *ch 1, sk next sc, sc in next ch-1 sp; rep from * to last st, sc in last st.

Rep Row 2 until right front measures same as left front.
Fasten off.



FINISHING:
Following diagrams, fold piece along shoulder line. Place markers on each side, about 10" (11) (25.5 (28) cm) below fold for armholes and about 8" (20.5 cm) above lower edge for side slits. Sew side seams between markers.
Remove markers.

Armhole Edging
Join yarn with a sl st in one underarm seam.

Rnd 1: Ch 1, work an even number of sc evenly spaced around armhole edge; join with sl st in first sc.
Rnd 2: Ch 1, sc in same st as joining sl st, *ch 1, sk next st, sc in next st; rep from * to last st, ch 1, sk last st; join with sl st in first sc.
Fasten off.
Rep edging around second armhole.

Weave in ends.
