Llama Piñata

SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

• Cardboard
• White paint
• Paint brush
• Masking tape
• Elmer's Glue
• Black scrapbook paper
• Cheer & Co. Party Backdrop, white
• Cheer & Co. Paper Garland, teal
• Cheer & Co. Paper Garland, navy blue
• Cheer & Co. Paper Garland, pink
• Cheer & Co. Tissue Paper, white
• Cheer & Co. Dotted Garland, mint green
• Pattern templates
• Scissors
• Hot glue gun

DIRECTIONS:

1. Tape together the pattern templates.
2. Cut the cardboard pieces to size using the pattern templates. Score and fold the cardboard at the dotted lines indicated in patterns.
3. Use the masking tape to piece together the llama. Start by taping the back to the sides, then tape the front legs, back legs, and head piece before constructing the bottom feet.
4. Fill the piñata with candy before securing the bottom of the last foot.
5. Paint the piñata with white paint. Let dry.
6. Spread a thin layer of Elmer's glue on the snout of the llama and cover it with white tissue paper. Add more layers of tissue paper until cardboard cannot be seen.
7. Glue and cover the ears and tail with layers of white tissue paper.
8. Glue and cover the feet with white tissue paper.
9. Begin adding the party backdrop fringe paper to the piñata. Begin at the feet, wrap the paper strip around and trim to size. Use Elmer's glue to glue the top of the fringe in place.
10. Continue adding the fringe paper, overlapping the previous row, until the llama is covered. Do not cover the portions of the head and feet covered in tissue paper.
11. Cut out two eyes from black scrapbook paper. Glue them in place on the head of the llama.
12. Hot glue the ears to the top of the llama's head. Glue the tail in place as well.
13. Cut the mint green garland to fit loosely around the neck of the llama.
14. Cut off several of the teal, navy blue, and pink tassels and attach them to the garland necklace. Trim the tassels to desired length.
