SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • Wreath wire frame
  • Pinecones (various sizes)
  • Floral wire (silver)
  • Wire cutters
  • Pliers
  • White spray paint
  • Paint (various colors for flowers)
  • White cotton cord
  • Gardening shears
  • Hot glue gun/glue gun sticks

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Wire wrap the pinecones and cut off leaving a 3"-4" tail on either side.
  2. Using the wire, attach the pinecones to the frame. Twist to secure in place and cut off any excess.
  3. Cover the wreath frame 1/2 to 3/4 of the way around with pinecones, leaving a portion unfinished.
  4. In a well-ventilated area, spray the frame and pinecones white with spray paint.
  5. Paint each pinecone to represent a flower using the various colors you chose. Multiple coats may be needed to fully cover the pinecones, let each coat dry in between. See photo for inspiration.
  6. Wrap the exposed wire frame with cotton cord knotting each end & adding a dab of hot glue to secure in place.
  7. There are raised cross pieces on the frame that stick out even after wrapping the frame. To cover these exposed pieces, braid three pieces together and glue them over the raised wires to hide.

Craft Hack Tips and Tricks:

  • Use hot glue to secure any loose pinecones.
  • Make sure to get a nice even base coat of white spray paint.
