SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • RED HEART® Super Saver® yarn: 1 skein each of Spring Green A, Cherry Red B, Lemon C
  • RED HEART® Pom and Tassel Maker
  • Green craft felt
  • Green chenille stems
  • 3 yds (2.7m) Grosgrain ribbon 3/8" (10mm) wide

DIRECTIONS:

Notes:
Following the instructions provided with the Pom and Tassel Maker, make five 4" (10cm) pompoms with each of the three yarn colors, for a total of 15 pompoms. Do not trim the tying cords; leave them long.
  1. Print the template provided below and cut it out. Use template to cut 15 leaves from felt.
  2. Cut chenille stems into 15 pieces 4" (10cm) long. Use the point of your scissors or a large tapestry needle to make a tiny hole near one point of each leaf. Poke a 4" (10cm) chenille stem through the hole, with 1/2" on one side and 3-1/2" (9cm) on the other side.
  3. Wrap the short section of the chenille stems around the tying cords of each pompom, attaching the leaf and stem near the center of the pompom.
  4. Wrap the long end of each chenille stem around a knitting needle or chopstick to form a tendril.
  5. Using tying cords, tie pompoms to ribbon, alternating colors and spacing them evenly. You'll be able to slide the pompoms along the ribbon to adjust spacing when the garland is complete.
  6. Trim tying cords close to knots.
