  • Blue Candy Melts® Candy (2oz needed)
  • Bright Pink Candy Melts® Candy (2oz needed)
  • Lavender Candy Melts® Candy (2oz needed)
  • Orange Candy Melts® Candy (2oz needed)
  • Vibrant Green Candy Melts® Candy (2oz needed)
  • Yellow Candy Melts® Candy (2oz needed)
  • Favorite cake mix or recipe (4 1/2 cups batter needed)
  • Buttercream Icing Recipe (link to recipe online)
  • 6-cavity mini loaf pan
  • Disposable decorating bags
  • Vegetable peeler
  • Standard muffin pan
  • Standard rainbow baking cups
  • Cooling grid
  • Round Decorating Tip 2A

DIRECTIONS:

  1. One day in advance, make candy curls. Melt 2oz each Blue, Bright Pink, Lavender, Orange, Vibrant Green and Yellow Candy Melts candy, separately, according to package directions. Prepare six decorating bags, separately, with melted candy. Cut 1/2" tip in each bag. Starting with melted Bright Pink candy, pipe thin layer of candy into each cavity of mini loaf pan. Let set slightly, but not solid, about 2 to 3 minutes. Repeat step with Orange, Yellow, Vibrant Green, Blue and Lavender candy, letting layers set slightly before piping next candy color. After Lavender layer has been prepared, chill candy until completely set, about 30 minutes. Once set, remove candy from pan; let come to room temperature. Using vegetable peeler along long side of candy, use even pressure to pull peeler towards you, forming curls. Continue with all candy pieces. Chill curls until ready to use. Prepare cake batter following recipe instructions. Bake and cool cupcakes in rainbow cupcake liners. Prepare buttercream following recipe instructions. Prepare decorating bag with tip 2A and buttercream icing. Pipe puffy cloud on each cupcake. Top with candy curls.
