Susan Bates® Crochet Hook:
4.0 mm [US G-6]

Yarn needle

GAUGE: 7 rows in pattern = 4" (10 cm). CHECK YOUR GAUGE. Use any size hook to obtain the gauge.

Headband measures: 18½" (47 cm) long by 1½" (4 cm) wide, not including Ties.

HEADBAND
Tie 1
With A, Ch 33; slip st in 2nd ch from hook and each ch across; do not fasten off—32 ch.

Band
Ch 4, join with slip st in first ch to make ring.
Row 1 (Right Side): Ch 3 (counts as dc now and throughout), (3 dc, ch 2, 4 dc) in ring; turn—8 dc.
Row 2: Ch 3, (3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc) in ch-2 space, skip 3 dc, dc in top of ch-3; turn—8 dc.
Rows 3-32: Repeat Row 2.

Tie 2: Ch 1, slip st in first 3 dc and ch-2 space, ch 33; slip st in 2nd ch from hook and next 31 ch; join with slip st in ch-2 space. Fasten off.

HEART
(make 1 with A, 2 with B)
Ch 4 (counts as first dc, ch 1).
Round 1 (Right Side): Work 11 dc in 4th ch from hook; join with slip st in top of ch-4—12 dc.
Round 2: Ch 1, 3 sc in same st as join, sc in next 2 dc, hdc in next dc, 2 dc in each of next 2 dc, ch 2, slip st in next dc, ch 2, 2 dc in each of next 2 dc, hdc in next dc, sc in next 2 dc, join with slip st in first sc—18 sts. Fasten off, leaving long end for sewing.

FINISHING
Referring to photo for placement, sew Hearts to Headband; weave in ends.
