RED HEART® With Love®: 1 skein each: 1971 Tigerlily A, 1201 Daffodil B, 1939 Papaya C
• 9" [23 cm] and 5" [12.5] pieces of stiff cardboard plus other sizes as desired for smaller and larger pompoms
• Craft glue
• Assorted plastic cups:
2 oz condiment, 6 oz dessert,
9 oz party
• Chenille stems
• Googly eyes
• Scissors
BASIC Alien
Steps (refer to photos):
1. Wrap yarn around the 9" [23 cm] piece of cardboard, 100 times.
2. Remove yarn from cardboard, pinching center and then securing with a chenille stem.
3. Cut loops on each side and then fluff pompom and trim if necessary.
4. With 6 oz dessert cup held upside down, apply glue to outside bottom of cup. Apply glue to center of pompom.
5. Join pompom to cup, pressing glue together and letting strands of pompom hang down to cover cup. Let set until dry.
6. With all 3 colors, wrap yarn around the 5" [12.5 cm] piece of cardboard, 40 times.
7. Remove yarn from cardboard, pinching center and then securing with a chenille stem.
8. Cut loops on each side and then fluff pompom and trim if necessary.
9. Apply glue to center of both pompoms. Press pompoms together and let set until dry.
10. Curl ends of 2 chenille stems and glue googly eyes to curled ends
11. Glue opposite (straight) end of chenille stems and place into body of smaller pompom. Let set until dry.
