RED HEART® Super Saver®: 1 skein 313 Aran A, 2 skeins each 400 Grey Heather B and 319 Cherry Red C; 3 skeins 312 Black D.

Crochet Hooks: 4mm [US G-6] and 5mm [US H-8].

GAuGE: Square = 8” x 8”. CHECK YOuR GAuGE. use any size hook to obtain the gauge.

NOTE: When starting or ending any color, leave yarn lengths as follows: 8” each end on C, 4” each on A, B, and D. These yarn ends will later be used to sew Squares together.

Row 3: Ch 6, dc in 4th, 5th, and 6th ch from hook, [slip st in top of next ch-3, ch 3, 3 dc over same ch-3] twice; turn – 3 motifs.
Row 4: Repeat Row 3 working sts in brackets 3 times – 4 motifs.
Row 5: Repeat Row 3 working sts in brackets 4 times; – 5 motifs. Cut yarn.

Finishing
Large Blocks (Make 9)
Using 4 Squares per Large Block, arrange Squares with C triangle of each Square at center. Take care that all Squares are positioned so that stripes match at sides.
Using yarn ends, sew squares together between motifs on wrong side of work.

Sew Large Blocks together into a 3 Block x 3 Block unit.

Border
Round 1: With right side facing and larger hook, join B in corner; ch 1, ** (sc, ch 2, sc) in corner, * ch 2, sc between next 2 motifs; repeat from * to corner; ch 2; repeat from ** around; join with a slip st in first sc.
