DIRECTIONS:

  1. Measure the boa around the headband, and cut the length needed to cover it.
  2. There is a cord in the middle of the boa that holds it together. When cutting the excess boa, spread the feathers apart and cut the cord.
  3. Hot glue the chandelle boa around the headband. When doing this, pull the feathers to the side and glue the cord down. This will secure the boa in place.

    Cookie Monster Headpiece:
  1. Using a black marker, edge the white circle with black.
  2. Hot glue the black felt circles, off-centered (efer to photo) onto the white felt circles for the eyes.
  3. Move the feathers over and hot glue the bottom edge of the eyes to the headband.

    Elmo Headpiece:
  1. Using a black marker, edge the felt circles with black.
  2. Hot glue the black felt circles onto the white felt circles for the eyes.
  3. Hot glue the 2 eyes above and behind the orange felt circle. Then glue the other felt orange circle in the back, doubling the orange circles so it is more secure.
  4. Move the feathers over and hot glue the bottom edge of the orange circle nose to the headband.

    Oscar Headpiece:
  1. Using a black marker, edge the white tear drop shapes with black.
  2. Referring to photo, hot glue the black felt circles onto the white felt teardrops for the eyes. Then glue the eyes onto the brown felt.
  3. Cut the brown felt in the middle closer to the eyes, leaving a border of brown around each one. Using the black marker, edge the top brown felt above the eyes for a shaded look.
  4. Hot glue strips of brown felt to the ends as shown in the picture. Move the feathers over and hot glue the bottom edge of the eyes to the headband.
  5. Cut a 3" chandelle piece off the excess boa and hot glue it underneath the top of the headband to make it fuller underneath the eyes.

    Big Bird Mask:
  1. To print the Big Bird beak pattern, click on the "Download Project PDF" button (above).
  2. Use the pattern to cut out the poster board. Spray paint the poster board piece yellow, allow to dry.
  3. Fold the beak in half. Hot glue the beak to the mask form, refer to photo for placement.
  4. Hot glue the yellow boa around the mask form until filled. Hot glue sequin trim around the eye holes.
  5. Wrap the other chandelle boa around the neck to complete the look.
