TOOLS & SUPPLIES

  • RED HEART® Super Saver®: 1 skein each of 368 Paddy Green A and 0316 Soft White B.
  • Susan Bates® Crochet Hook: 25 mm [US G-6]
  • Yarn needle, One ½” (13 mm) wide headband (such as Bow-tique- Horizon Group headband, shown)
  • GAUGE: 4 sts = 1” (2.5 cm); 3 rows sc = 3/4” (2 cm). CHECK YOUR GAUGE. Use any size hook to obtain the gauge given.
  • RED HEART® Super Saver®, Art. E300 available in solid color 7 oz (198 g), 364 yd (333 m); multicolor, heather and print 5 oz (141 g), 244 yd (223 m), flecks 5 oz (141g), 260 yds (238 m) skeins

 

Headband measures ½” (13 mm) wide

 

HEADBAND COVER

Top Half

With A, ch 55. Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in each ch across; turn—54 sts Rows 2-3: Ch 1, sc in each sc across; turn. Fasten off, leaving a sewing length.

Bottom Half

With B, work same as Top Half. Fasten off. With wrong sides of Top and Bottom Halves facing, using yarn needle and A, sew sides together, matching sts. Insert the headband into cover. Sew ends together. Weave in ends.

Clover (make 2)

With A, ch 4, join into a ring with a slip st in first ch. Rnd 1: Ch 1, 6 sc in ring, join with a slip st in first sc. Rnd 2: *Ch 3, (tr, hdc) in same st, (hdc, tr, ch 3, slip st) in next st**, slip st in next st; repeat from * once; repeat from * to ** once, ch 5, slip st in 2nd ch from hook, slip st in each of next 3 ch, slip st in base of first st (stem made). Fasten off, leaving a sewing length.

 

FINISHING

Weave in ends. Sew both Clovers on the left side of the headband as pictured.
