DIRECTIONS:
- 1 Cotton fabric jelly roll (2.5"x 42" strips)
- 1 yd. Fabric for contrast stripes
- 2 yd. Fabric for backing
- 1 yd. Fabric for binding
- 1 Baby-size quilt batting (approx. 45" x 60")
- Basic sewing supplies
- Iron
DIRECTIONS:
- Set aside 15 strips from jelly roll and trim length down to 40". Cut 15 2.5" x 40" strips out of contrast fabric (1/4" seam allowance included).
- Alternating jelly roll and contrast fabric, sew long sides of stripes right-side together. Repeat process until all stripes are sewn. Press all seam allowances toward darker fabric.
- Cut backing fabric and batting to 40" x 60" rectangles. Sandwich batting between cotton fabrics and pin together. Topstitch 1/4" away from each stripe seam to quilt all three pieces together.
- Cut one piece of 210" by 2" for the bias tape. Press strip in half lengthwise. Sew raw edge of bias to edge of quilt, right-sides together (1/4" seam allowance). Press bias toward edge of quilt. Fold edge of bias toward wrong side, fold under 1/4", and hand stitch edge.
