SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

    Skirts
  • 1 yd dot fabric
  • 2 yds pineapple fabric
  • 3/4 yd lining fabric
  • 1 pk 3/8" elastic
  • Sewing notions

  • Shirts
  • Simplicity® 1435
  • 3/4 yard Doodles stretch knit fabric
  • T-shirt
  • Scissors
  • Sewing machine
  • Cricut® machine
  • Cricut® iron-on vinyl
  • Basic sewing supplies
  • Iron

DIRECTIONS:

    All seams are 5/8" unless stated.
    Skirts
  1. Measure and cut 2 pieces of dot fabric, 16" long X 40" wide for overskirt. Sew side seams right sides together. Gather waist to 30". Hem skirt with a turn and turn hem.
  2. Measure and cut 2 pieces of pineapple fabric, 32" long X 40" wide for overskirt. Fold length in half to waistline, creating no hem.
  3. Measure and cut 2 lining pieces of dot fabric, 15" long X 23" wide.
  4. Measure and cut 2 lining pieces of pineapple fabric, 15" long X 30". Sew lining side seams, gather waist to 30". Sew a turn and turn hem. Sew skirt and lining together at waist.
  5. Cut elastic to fit waistline snug add 1/2" for seam.
  6. Cut strip out of lining 8" longer than elastic for a casing. This will give extra for stretching over waist. Sew elastic into casing with a straight stitch, attach to skirt, serge or zig zag to finish. Sewing elastic to waistline is also an option.

    Shirts
  1. Follow Simplicity® pattern instructions for top pattern View B.
  2. Download the patterns, click on the "Download Project PDF" button (above). Enlarge patterns.
  3. Use Cricut® machine to cut iron-on vinyl. Make sure to mirror the image before cutting.
  4. Iron vinyl cutout onto front of t-shirt following instructions of vinyl packaging.
