SUPPLIES & TOOLS:
- 1 pkg 20 mm wood beads
- 1 pkg 25 mm wood beads
- Navy Blue Rit Liquid Dye
- Evening Blue Rit Liquid Dye
- Leather cording
- Air-dry clay
- Clay roller
- Wood skewer
- Scissors
- Paper towels
DIRECTIONS:
- Roll several balls of clay, slightly smaller then a ping pong ball. Use the palms of your hands to flatten the ball into a disc. Use the wooden skewer to poke a hole in the center of the disc.
- Out of a larger piece of clay, pinch and shape a bell shape. Use the wooden skewer to poke a hole in the top of the bell. Set clay items aside to dry according to the directions on the package.
- Separate beads to dye, and beads to leave natural.
- To dye beads, mix 1/2 cup of dye with 2 cups very hot water in a disposable container. Add beads to dye and stir for about 5 minutes or until desired color is reached. Beads will lighten as they dry. Quickly rinse beads under cool water and than spread onto paper towels to dry.
- Cut 2 pieces of leather cording about 30" long. Tie a knot at the end of each piece.
- Once beads and clay have dried, string onto cording using photo as a guide. Adjust length, than knot end into a loop to hang.
