  • DecoArt Americana, Acrylic Paint: Grey Sky
  • Round Unfinished Wood Beads, 25mm
  • Darice Craftwood, Wood Beads, 20mm
  • 6yds Wrights, 3/16" Twist Jute Rope
  • Walnut Hollow, Basswood Country Round, Wood Piece
  • Drill with 7/32" Drill Bit
  • Lily Sugar 'n Cream Cotton Yarn: Ecru
  • Paintbrush
  • Pencil
  • Walnut Hollow Creative Wood Burner
  • Pattern

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Trace or draw the design centered onto the wood piece.
  2. Allow the wood burner to warm up for 5 minutes before using.
  3. Trace the design with the wood burning tool.
  4. Drill three holes equally-spaced around the wood piece.
  5. Cut a piece of jute rope 52", and a piece 26". Fold the 52" piece in half and tie a knot around the middle and one end of the 26" piece. Leave a small loop for hanging.
  6. Paint an assortment of wood beads with the worn penny and grey sky paint. Allow to dry.
  7. Thread a string of wood beads onto each of the three ends of the jute rope.
  8. Thread the ends of the jute rope through the holes in the wood piece and knot underneath to secure. Adjust the knots until the piece will hang level.
  9. To make tassels, cut twenty-five 12" pieces of ecru yarn. Fold in half and tie in the middle with a 6" piece of yarn. Wrap a piece of yarn 1/2" from the top and knot to secure.
  10. String a wood bead to the top of each tassel.
  11. Attach the tassel to the under knot of each jute rope piece.
