Banana Shirt
- Use a marker to draw the outline of banana peel at the bottom front of the shirt. Cut through both layers on the drawn lines.
- Cut felt strips 1/2" wide by the length of the felt sheet.
- Hot glue felt strips to shirt along the edges of the raw cut edges.
- Extend the white felt strips up the shirt to the neck line to make the shape of a banana.
- Fold up sleeves twice and use a dot of glue to keep in place.
- Use the circle pattern to cut out the round blue sticker. Glue to shirt.
- For the text on the banana sticker, it would be cute to personalize this to the costume wearer's name. Instead of hand-cutting letters from felt, use white letter stickers and glue on with glue gun so letter do not come off.
- Optional: Use the die cut machine to cut out a circle using the shape tool in Design Space and size to desired dimensions.
- Use the text tool to type out JOANNA'S BANANAS or desired font.
- Cut out patterns (yellow banana is two layers of felt for stability) and glue together according to the marking on the pattern.
- TIP: Make the brown stem first and then wrap the yellow banana pieces around the stem.
- Stuff banana with fiberfill and glue on the base so it stays in.
- Glue banana top to headband. Use a scrap piece of felt to conceal the headband, glue on with hot glue.
- Use pattern to trace and cut about 60 seeds out of white felt.
- Place all seeds on the front of red shirt. Once placement is done, start to glue on with hot glue gun.
- Fold up sleeves twice and use a dot of glue to keep in place.
- Use patterns to cut out leaves and stem.
- Start with the stem by rolling up the green pattern piece around the top of two chenille stems. Glue closed.
- Wrap the bottom of the chenille stems around the middle of the headband to the stems sticks up straight. Slightly curve stem to the right or left.
- Glue on all leaves to headband.
