DIRECTIONS:

    Be Happy Sign:
  1. To print the patterns, click on the "Download Project PDF" button (above). Using the pattern, cut out the shape of the sign in the floral felt and the ocean blue felt. Set aside the ocean blue piece.
  2. Trace the outlines of the “BE HAPPY” letters onto the floral felt piece. Carefully cut out the letters. For letters with inner pieces such as the A, B and Ps, set them aside.
  3. To create the top piece for hanging, cut a length of cotton yarn 14” long. Hot glue one end to the back top corner of the floral felt piece, and the other end to the other top corner.
  4. Align the floral felt piece on top of the ocean blue felt and hot glue in place.
  5. Cut out the center pieces of the letters A, B and the two Ps, and glue them in place onto the ocean blue felt.
  6. Glue a line of pink pompoms along the bottom of the sign.

    Petal Felt Sign:
  1. Using the pattern template, cut out the shape of the sign in the baby pink felt. Draw out the lines where the colors will change onto the front of the felt.
  2. To create the top piece for hanging, cut a length of cotton yarn 14” long. Hot glue one end to the front top corner of the piece, and the other end to the other top corner.
  3. With the pattern template, cut out many petals in each color of felt, baby pink, minty, and ocean blue.
  4. Begin hot gluing the ocean blue petals onto the pink felt, starting at the bottom and working up. Overlap the petals so that the pink felt is completely covered. Work up to the first line.
  5. Switch to the minty felt petals to complete the middle portion of the sign, overlapping the petals from the previous ocean blue row. Continue working up to the second line.
  6. Switch to the baby pink felt petals to complete the top portion of the sign, overlapping the petals from the previous minty row. Continue working up to the top of the sign.
  7. Glue one last row of baby pink petals, so that the ends spill over the top of the sign. Fold the top of the petals over to the back of the sign and hot glue them down on the back of the sign.

    Floral Sign:
  1. Using the pattern templates, cut out the shape of the sign in two pieces of minty felt. Set one piece aside.
  2. To create the top piece for hanging, cut a length of cotton yarn 14” long. Hot glue one end to the front top corner of the piece, and the other end to the other top corner.
  3. Hot glue the two sign pieces together, with the ends of the yarn piece between the two.
  4. With the pattern templates, cut out the leaf shapes in the olive felt. Set them aside.
  5. Cut out the pieces of flower from the baby pink felt.
  6. Glue together the six largest petals to make the base of the flower.
  7. Glue the five medium-sized petals onto the larger petals.
  8. Glue the four next-sized petals onto flower.
  9. Glue the three smallest petals onto the middle of the flower.
  10. Cut out the small strip of felt. Glue the two ends together to make a loop and glue it to the middle of the flower.
  11. Glue the back middle of the flower in place onto the sign.
  12. With the pattern template, cut out the pieces for flower 2 and flower 3 in ocean blue and minty felt. Note that the felt pieces are to be folded lengthwise, as noted on the pattern.
  13. With the ocean blue felt, fold in half lengthwise and hot glue the ends securely. Cut the fringe pieces as shown on the pattern. Make two pieces.
  14. Starting on one end of the first piece, start spiraling the flower, gluing it securely. At the end of the first piece, glue on the second piece and continue spiraling the flower.
  15. Make flower 3 in the same manner as flower 2, using only one piece to make a smaller flower.
  16. Hot glue two leaves to the back of flowers 2 and 3.
  17. Hot glue flowers 2 and 3 in place on the sign.
  18. Hot glue the additional flowers in place on the sign, tucking them under the pink flower.

Craft Hack Tips and Tricks:

  • When gluing two sign pieces together, hot glue the top portion together first, then work down the piece so that the hot glue doesn’t cool before finished gluing.
