Beginner 3-5 Hours

SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • Various florals
  • Wire 20-22g
  • Wire cutters
  • Pliers

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Cut the stems to the desired length, keeping them under a foot in length. Trim off any excess foliage or leaves at the base of the stems.
  2. Wrap the end of your wire around the floral stem until it is secure. Cut off the wire leaving a one inch tail. Create a loop out of the tail and twist the rest of the wire around itself to secure the loop (you will want to make sure you place the wire loop about 2" from the bottom of the flower). You may have to experiment with where the wire goes, depending on the weight and size of your flowers, so they hang straight.
  3. Repeat until you have the desired amount of floral stems. You can add greenery or smaller buds with larger ones to add interest, but keep in mind you may have to adjust wire loop placement.
  4. To hang to the wall, attach a small clear Command® hook, thumbtack or small nail depending how permanent you want it to be, and hang the floral stem from the wire loop.

JOANN Hacks:

  • Wrap the wire onto your floral stem right from the spool then cut once you have the amount you need to save wire and prevent waste.
  • Cut floral stems with heavy gage wire cutters to prevent damage.
