SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • 2 3/4 yd fabric for one floor-length curtain
  • Thread
  • Sewing notions

DIRECTIONS:

  1. All seams are 1/2" unless stated.
  2. Cut one panel 95" for floor length curtain. This allows for 84" + 7" for hem + 3" for top, ruffle and rod. (If 2 panels are needed increase another 2 3/4 yd of fabric.)
  3. Hem sides with a straight stitch of 1 1/2" turning a 1/2" under.
  4. The hem is turned up 3 1/2", turned again 3 1/2". Top stitch on fold edge of hem. (If a smaller hem is desired, add less than the 7". Remember then to subtract from the yardage needed.)
  5. This is for a 1" rod: press edge under 1/4", fold over 2 3/4", press. Sew with a straight stitch along the 1/4" press line. Straight stitch from the top of fold line down 2 3/4". This will make the ruffle at the top and casing for the rod.
