DIRECTIONS:
- Assorted colors of paint
- Cardstock or thick paper
- Scissors
- Glitter
- Pipe cleaners & other embellishments
- Craft glue
DIRECTIONS:
- Begin by folding cardstock in half
- Put small dots of paint on one half of the paper towards the center, then fold paper in half to “smoosh” the paint flat, creating a mirrored image on the other half.
- Let dry completely.
- Once paint is dry, use scissors to cut out the shape of a bug (butterfly, beetle, dragonfly, etc.).
- Fold pipe cleaner in half and roll up the ends to create antennae.
- Attach antennae using craft glue, then add glitter and other embellishments.
- To speed drying of paint-use a heat gun or hair dryer

Thought about it....
Was looking for projects for my Girl Scout troop of younger girls. Thought this looked cute until I read the directions. The main point is that they fold the paper over and get a mirror image of the paint, but then they are supposed to let it dry for 12 hours before completing it! Most troops or classrooms or even people at home lack the space and/or time to start a project and then leave it to dry and come back tomorrow. I'm sure they may dry quicker than that if the girls aren't sloppy with the paint, but even so, our meetings are only one hour, so they wouldn't even be half dry to take home and finish next time. The kids who would like this project are so young they won't even remember starting it even if I could figure out a way to get it home to dry and bring it back next time.
